Workbenches overview

The workbench enhances Next Gen Testing Platform with bespoke test automation assets built for specific use cases such as new implementations or upgrades to specific platforms, applying advanced analytics or machine learning or large-scale data testing. The workbenches contain test design, execution and reporting capabilities that integrate seamlessly with the Next Gen Testing Platform such as data mining for application configuration to automatically generate test scripts, on demand data generation, etc.

Guidewire

Through our years of experience with Guidewire (GW) implementations and our close alliance with GW; the GW workbench enables a transformational shift in approach to testing – faster, more coverage and just better. The key capabilities include the following 4 components:

  • Page object generator – generate the unique locators for all page objects in PC, BC and CC (~1900 pages/panels each) in minutes! When a page is changed or customized, that incremental change is also processed and automation scripts updated
  • Product model extractor – ability to parse the product model details into a consumable data structure and offer truly customized test scripts specific for your business including products, coverages, policy lines, offerings, questions sets and business logic
  • Automated and optimized test design – using our components above combined with pre-built templates, we can generate statistically optimized test cases specific for your product model in minutes that can be immediately ran in the Next Gen Testing Platform
  • GW data extractor – a refined data management utility to capture required test data from your environment to be used in the generated scripts or for manual testing

Payment

Using our years of experience in the payments and financial services area, the payments workbench is carefully designed to include specific customer journeys, optimized test design and test cases within our Next Gen Testing Platform. Some of the key capabilities include:

  • NACHA Afinis API Catalogue: all financial institutes use industry-standard Afinis API for online banking and payments. EY’s NextGen automation scripts simulate API calls and responses which seamlessly integrate with most client environments
  • EMVCo SRC 'Click to Pay': EY test case repository (250+) to certify a merchant with a Payment network, guide our client to define the requirements, and test repository will reduce the test preparation effort
  • Automated regression suite to test forward and backward compatibility of APIs in an agile environment

Data validation

Using cutting edge tools and technologies, this workbench will help you automate the validation of millions or even billions of records of data, including complex transformations, with minimal infrastructure. All that leveraging simple easy-to-follow English instructions. Also, these work seamlessly with the other workbenches so you can run your end-to-end tests with little effort.

Some of the use cases include:

  • Data conversion testing
  • Financial reconciliation of balance sheets, income statements and general ledger (GL)
  • Compare migrated data against source data
  • Validate data integrity, fidelity and accuracy after transfers to/from third parties/external vendors
  • Report data validation results in custom format or off-the-shelf reporting tools
  • Validation of inserts/updates from UI tests
  • Compare datasets between environments

Test intelligence

Using machine learning, analytics and other advanced technologies, this workbench includes tools to modernize test automation and other testing processes so you can test smarter, not harder. These solutions will be customized for your unique conditions and data to improve accuracy. Examples include:

  • Predictive modeling for test execution and planning
  • Defect root cause analysis using NLP
  • Translate manual test steps to test automation using NLP
  • Intelligent exploratory testing bots
  • Manual test case normalization and standardization
  • Production incident analysis for missing test coverage

IVR test automation

Using AI, programmable voice platforms and EY’s Next Gen Testing Platform, our IVR Automation capability can automate inbound and outbound calls, caller inputs and prompt validations. This capability enables much broader testing than what’s possible to do manually, including different languages and large number of variations and possibilities. Some of the key features include:

  • Automate inbound and outbound IVR calls in parallel
  • Convert speech to text options for verifications
  • Live transcription via call stream
  • Play DTMF tones, AI generated speech, dial prompts, hang up or take other actions
  • Call transcriptions, recordings and test execution results for later review
