[WELCOME]

[Kaki Giauque] (0:13 - 0:27)
Good morning, everyone. On behalf of the entire EY Metals & Mining team, we welcome you to this year's Americas Metals & Mining Forum. I'm Kaki Giauque, EY's Americas Metal & Mining Assurance Leader.

[Theo Yameogo] (0:28 - 1:16)
Thanks for joining us today. I'm Theo Yameogo, EY Americas Metals & Mining Leader. Our forum is unique in the exceptional lineup of speakers and the depth of experience and expertise we bring for all of us today.

What's important to us is to actually ensure that we hear the voice of the industry in terms of the context of sustainability and energy transition, but that we also are ready for the future in a way that makes us all relevant, but also critical for the future of the planet. In today's forum, we will have participants from Latin America, Canada, the U.S., Europe, and Australia, but we're also joined by a variety of people from across the world online.

[Kaki Giauque] (1:16 - 3:06)
A few housekeeping items before we get started with today's forum. In order to receive CPE credit for today's program, you must attend at a minimum 50 minutes of every content hour through the live webcast link online. Due to NASBA participation requirements, we are unable to issue CPE for those who are only listening via conference call.

Please make sure the webcast window is active and live. We will have numerous polling questions throughout the sessions as well. These are a great and interactive way to hear from you and learn about your position in the industry.

As a friendly reminder, if you are interested in receiving CPE credit, online participation and answering each polling question is required. Please note the results of the polling questions will not be displayed during the forum. We will review and analyze your input after the event and share our findings with this group.

Please be sure to type your question to the panelists in the Q&A box during the presentations. We will do our best to answer those questions if time allows. However, if we do not get to your question, we will do our best to follow up with you after the event.

We're excited to kick off today's agenda with a series of insightful sessions that will set the tone for the rest of the forum. First up, we'll have our keynote presentation featuring a conversation with Rob McEwen, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at McEwen Mining. Following that, we'll dive into critical minerals, exploring the challenges and opportunities in navigating the end-to-end supply chain.

And to wrap up our morning, we'll focus on culture and workforce, discussing how to lead with a more inclusive and multi-generational approach.

[Theo Yameogo] (3:07 - 4:15)
Yeah, thanks, Kaki. And for all of us, as we go through these sessions, there are some key learning objectives that we'd like you to keep in mind. Of course, first and foremost is really understanding the current trend in the metals and mining sector.

And also understanding and gaining insight into critical minerals landscape for that session. We believe that the insights in this session will help all of us really get a bigger picture on how strategic partnerships, especially OEMs and other parts of the supply chain are emerging, and how government policies also are supporting the subsector. When it comes to the workforce, culture and workforce, we believe that one of the key objectives is to really understand the inclusive leadership practices and to examine approaches on developing multi-generational workforce.

And of course, not just multi-generational, but also diversity of culture. It's going to be an informative and engaging morning. And so let's get started.

[Kaki Giauque] (4:16 - 4:49)
Before we dive into our first session, let's have a quick polling question. What do you see as the most pressing challenge for the sector in 2024 and beyond? Please select the option that resonates most with you, which should be appearing on your screens now.

We value your input and look forward to seeing the results.

And now, without further ado, I'd like to welcome Dean Braunsteiner, EY Canada's Metals and Mining Assurance Leader, and Rob McEwen.
